Certifications
Saybr is a certified Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and Woman Business Enterprise (WBE). Karen Say-Valadez has been the majority owner of the company since our founding in 1997. Inspired by her own experience, Karen has become a passionate advocate for and mentor to WMBE's. She invests in the WMBE community by serving on diversity outreach committees, teaching best business practices to emerging businesses at local colleges and small business events, and providing one-on-one mentorship to fellow WMBE business owners.
We are certified through the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
Awards
Saybr has received numerous safety and performance awards throughout its history, including the following:
- Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc. 2021 Top Performer. Ranked 46 of the top 111 of woman and/or minority owned contractors in the nation for achievements in safety, quality, diversity, and project excellence.
- Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc. 2021 Diamond STEP Award. ABC's Safety & Training Excellence Program (STEP) is a safety benchmarking and improvement tool that measures contractor safety performance. Saybr is one of only a handful of contractors in the nation to achieve Diamond-level status in the program, with a TRIR at or below 50% of the BLS average, an EMR of less than 0.7, and a highly-effective safety program.
