Asbestos Barrier System (ABS) ©
Your asbestos containment solution is here.
Asbestos-containing material can be a facility management nightmare. The hazards associated with asbestos exposure (including lung cancer and asbestosis) put facility occupants, employees, and custodial staff at risk and expose the facility owners to extensive liability issues. But abating the material can be prohibitively expensive—especially when factoring in crucial production time.
Your solution has arrived: the Asbestos Barrier System (ABS). ABS can both eliminate facility occupant’s exposure to asbestos hazards AND help you avoid expensive abatement projects. The system is proven, practical, and - best of all - affordable. ABS has over twenty years of proven encapsulation history. It has been used in commercial and industrial settings across the United States.

Installation Process
|
First, a high-PSI overlay of cement-based patching material is laid over the floor to create a smooth surface. Next, the Asbestos Barrier System (ABS), a patented, high burst strength, laminated membrane material, is laid directly over asbestos-containing material to provide an airtight encapsulation of hazardous materials. Finally, the floor is ready for the application of nearly any type of standard-industry flooring.

Benefits
ABS© has over twenty years of proven encapsulation history. It has been used in commercial and industrial settings across the United States, including in schools, postal facitilies, and offices. Benefits of the system over traditional abatement include:
-
HUGE COST SAVINGS. Typically costs 50% less than removal methods.
-
NO DISTURBANCE. Minimal surface preparation, with no disturbance of fibers.
-
TOTAL COVERAGE. Provides flexible strength and a protective barrier that encloses the hazardous flooring for the life of the building.
-
REDUCES DOWNTIME. No long term occupant relocation necessary.
ABS© is warranted to the life of the building.
